blincoln
Hi. I've used Poweramp for many years, and it's always been really solid up until recently. When using V3 (build 820, full version) on my Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium with Android 9, the audio frequently (every 10-30 seconds) skips, or has pop/crackle sounds. This does not occur with the stock Sony music player, playing the same mp3s. This is via Bluetooth, as the phone does not have a headphone jack. I've tried using both the OpenSL ES and AudioTrack output options with standard and maximum buffer settings. I've tried various dithering settings. I've tried all of the "keep notification" settings. I've tried various DVC settings in Poweramp and Android developer options. OS-level audio effects are disabled. This never occurred with any version of V2. andrewilley
Try a clean uninstall and re-install of both the app and unlocker. Backup your settings and playlists first though. Andre
blincoln
The uninstall/reinstall didn't work, but I found a workaround that might help explain what the actual cause is. If I use the Android developer options to force the Bluetooth audio codec to SBC instead of AAC, the problem goes away (although of course the audio quality overall is lower).
