Playing .wav files attached to e-mails?

I noticed from the description of the app on the play store that Poweramp can play .wave audio files. However, when I try accessing a .wav file attached to an e-mail, it just says "There is no installed app that can open this attachment. Try downloading an appropriate app from Android Market."

I do have Poweramp installed, currently on trial period. On 4.2.2.

Any suggestions on how to enable playback through Poweramp?

Thanks. Unfortunately, Android's dumb e-mail client doesn't seem to permit saving an attachment unless a compatible app is installed. All there is is a button that says "INFO" (which helpfully offers the message above) rather than the usual "View / Save" buttons.

Hmm. Downloading Winamp seems to enable viewing/saving. I wonder why Poweramp doesn't...
