Merci.

Not sure what you are asking. PA should be able to play High-Res FLAC files. You'd need to choose high-res as the Output mode for your wired headset device, and pick the highest frequency you need, otherwise it would be resampled down to default 44.1 or 48kHz. This is done in Settings=>Audio=>Output.

Bonjour andrewilley,

Merci.Screenshot_2022-07-03-10-30-59-767_com.maxmpz.audioplayer.thumb.jpg.67dbba0df836073c9c4a8a586be47b2b.jpg

You currently have OpenSL ES enabled as your Output mode. This will be limiting the output resolution to the phone's default mode (probably 44.1kHz or 48kHz).

Instead, select High Resolution in the Output menu and then enable it for your wired headset connection, then you can go into its settings (cogwheel icon) and choose the resolution and bit-depth that you desire to support your recordings.

My ears are no longer as good as they were when I was young either, so I really cannot tell the difference between regular and high-res files now. High-res does give other advantages such as better headroom etc though.

You can see the whole audio processing chain by tapping on Settings=>Audio=>Audio Info while playing something, or long-press on the small metadata line at the bottom of the player screen.

Merci.

That will give you 192kHz output, the bit depth will be shown when you start playback. If that's the highest resolution of your FLAC files, I would leave it set like that. Anything lower than that will be upsampled for output.
