  1. @maxmp what kind of testing can be done to get hi res working on the FiiO X5iii properly? I have DVC and everything else turned off, as I don’t care about EQ or modifying my sound in SW. There’s no clear indication why for any reason only the headphone output offers hi res output. Again this device like the M11 and other DAPs have MULTIPLE OUTPUTS. Why is it restricted to only one of them?
  2. Device I’m using is FiiO X5iii, build 834. I guess as of 829 hi res output has been “working” upon restoring defaults on the main outputs page? I do receive 32/192 kHz when playing only from its headphone output. This registers as Wired Headset / AUX. Every now and then this restricts itself to 16/192 but I can always get it back by restoring defaults and unplugging and replugging in my headphones. But if I want to use my balanced headphone output, or line out (both register as Speaker), OpenSL ES Output 16/48 is STRICTLY forced. I’m able to verify with dumpsys media.audio_flinger that other media players in those outputs aren’t restricted in such a way. I’ll try build 835 inevitably but it doesn’t explicitly list any changes on this front..
  3. build.prop audio_policy.conf Again, on behalf of the many people requesting support for FiiO X5iii devices. What's the hold up? You've got the best UI of any player out there. I've purchased this app twice, once on google play and once directly. And it still FAILS to support what a beta release of it did 2 years ago. FiiO X5iii - 2x AKM 4490EN DAC's. These support 16/44.1 up through 32/384 and all multiples in between. Android 5.1.1 I don't know why it's so difficult, but this device has three wired outputs, an unbalanced headphone connection, a balanced headphone connection, and a line out connection. Is this the source of the problems? I previously included screenshots explaining that only the first of these is barely supported by Poweramp. Only by selecting "disable speaker during hi res" and restarting the application does 16/192 even show up when a cable is connected to unbalanced 3.5mm headphone output. Every other connection reverts to 16/48.
  4. 1. FiiO X5 3rd Generation 2. Android 5.1.1 , Custom Rom (Fidelizer) Based off of Firmware v1.2.2 3. See file format support listed here and attached audio policy. Stock music app, USB Audio Player Pro, and Neutron all support its hi res playback. When headphone cable is connected to player's unbalanced 3.5mm headphone output, output switches over to "Wired Headset/AUX" but is only active at 16bit/192kHz. When line out cable is connected to player's 3.5mm line out, output switches over to "Speaker" and reverts to OpenSL ES at 16bit/48kHz. When headphone cable is connected to player's 2.5mm balanced headphone output, it remains same as "Speaker" and uses OpenSL ES at 16bit/48kHz. Very odd! Using build 820. build.prop audio_policy.conf
