I tried it out on my Pixel XL on 8.1. It kinda works? Once I started playing a song, it took about 5-10 seconds for it to appear in my notifications. When I try to change tracks or pause, it takes a few seconds to respond. When I do pause, the pause button doesn't change to a play button, it remains the pause button. This may work for some but I'm going to continue to wait for a proper fix.
