  1. The use of an external application for complex TAGS editing is absolutely reasonable,

however, it would be very useful to edit the main TAGS of a whole album directly in PA.

Sometimes, after adding a new album it happens to note a mistyping in the artist or album name,

it would be great to have the possibility to correct that error in PA.

@6b6561 i have provided the "rate album" functionality in my app Music Playlist Manager. It updates all tracks of that album with whatever rating you select

Separated ratings are way better, a good album doesn't automatically means that all it's tracks are good the same

  3. Hello,

several artists have a lot of albums, especially live shows, and it would be it would be nice to have a rating at album level.

For example, the "Dave Matthews Band" produced more than 60 "Live Trax" albums, plus other live collections ("Warehouse" ...),

for me it's impossible to remember the ones I prefer, without the possibility to assign them a rating.

@code thanks for the request. It's actually obviously noticeable if you disable Limiter - you can hear overloading.

yes, I agree with you, but this feasible only if you have few songs, things became complex with a large collection of albums. I keep Limiter always on, and have some EQ presets for my headphones, whose could be good for many tracks, while could cause potential distortion on others, I will never know, since I cannot turn Limiter off/on on every single song(!)

without going over digital 0dB and overloading (or hitting limiter).

    Hello,

once I wrote in this forum asking if it could be possible to show some kind of alert when the above condition happens (my mind goes to the old fashioned VU meters),

since everything in Poweramp is designed to provide the best music experience it would be great to know when the user push the settings too far ...

    Ciao!

... to spend the time writing device-specific code to directly access the firmware of each external USB DAC though

I don't think there is the need to write device-specific code, this is what is written on the UAPP Player (the one I use when listening with an external DAC) web-page:
"When connecting an Android phone or tablet to a USB DAC, USB Audio Player PRO will unleash the full power of the DAC, by using our custom developed USB audio driver. This bypasses the Android audio system completely, meaning that Android's limitations regarding bit resolution and sample rate (16-bit/48kHz) are made irrelevant and high quality audio streams are fed directly to the DAC, making playback up to 32-bit at 384kHz possible (depending on the DAC capabilities) or even DSD."

Of course, I don't know how hard could be to write such an USB audio driver ...

@code autosave is always on for the parametric mode...

    Thanks for your answer.

I'm still wondering why it couldn't be just enable/disabled as in graphic mode. I believe that all Presets (both graphic and parametric) should stay locked unless the user intentionally want to modify them.

I've 2 in-ear and 2 over-ear headphones and I've selected for them my favorite Presets (mostly derived from AutoEQ), now all I desire is to have them locked, while I always fear to open the Eq panel and mess them by touching the wrong part of the screen. Since they autosave, I will never know if they are changed or not(!)

  8. Hello,

this bug was already reported about one year ago (builds 906-911) and it seems to be still there.

The Auto Save Current Preset  (Eq presets) option is always active and can't be disable, nor by long pressing on the Save button on Eq page, nor by toggling that option in the Settings: in the last case, even if I turn it OFF, when I'm back to the settings it is still ON.

This is rather nasty since when the option is on is quite easy to mess up the Eq presets. The only way to go back is to restore a backup.

    Ciao!

  9. Hello,

I wonder if could be possible to show in same way when the Limiter is actually working to avoid distortion/clipping.

It would be useful to check if the chosen preamp is pushing the level too far.

I'm thinking, for example, by marking the peaks in the wave seekbar that will be "limited" ...

    Ciao, S.

  10. Hi,

having headphones with different impedance, every time I plug one of them into my smartphone I have to check the Volume to avoid to be deafened in case I left the volume too high, when moving from an high impedance headphone to a low one, or in case I raised the volume to see a videoclip or a movie. I think it should be a nice safety feature to have an option in PA to reset the volume to a predefined value each time an headphone plug in is detected. Shouldn't be complicated and would be quite helpful in preventing ear damages.
