First, most computer-based music players don't put lyrics on the desktop anyway - if they support them at all, they display them in their own interface or in a separate window.

But if lyrics are not floated on top of other content, how would you read them? Floating them on top is bound to obscure something.

I do tend to agree with @MotleyG though that a lot of Max's effort has already gone into supporting what is basically a "nice to have" Lyric feature, which will have diverted him from working on more useful core audio-player features or user-interface enhancements. Poweramp was not really intended to be targeted at the karaoke market.

Actually, I've already demonstrated its effect in the first picture, so it seems unnecessary to provide further explanation.

This seems more like a cultural difference, making it difficult for you to understand when I say, 'It's just a basic function.'  I have no objections to what you want to do, and I hope PA keeps improving. I just hope that you can consider my request when you have some free time.

    End.

What does one have to do with the other?

Poweramp is a music player app. Yet the number of requests for visualizers and lyrics and other features lately is absurd.

You say it can wait, yet you yourself have posted 6 times about supporting this since joining the forum a week ago.

@MotleyG First, I'm just passively responding.

Second, I posted this message after looking at other posts.

Third, I've been purchasing PA for more than a week.

  3. @MotleyG PA is indeed an app primarily focused on audio, but it is at least a music player, not a music production software. The lyrics feature is just a basic function and doesn't alter its core purpose. Additionally, lyrics and music are closely connected; otherwise, how could Bob Dylan win the Nobel Prize in Literature?

This is not an excessive request, and we can also wait in terms of time.

Not sure quite how many other users would agree with that assertion...

But in the meantime, why not just run Poweramp in a smaller window on your device’s homescreen, or in split-screen mode, so you can see the lyrics display while you are doing something else?

    Andre

That's also possible, but it's akin to keeping the music software window on top while using your computer; it would obstruct a portion of the content. Otherwise, why would computer-based music players always include the desktop lyrics feature?

I understand the effort you put into updating the software; you can leave this task for later.

The term 'desktop lyrics' is just a casual expression, I have explained it in words with pictures, please don't mind it.

As for your question, for instance, when I'm listening to some non-native sounds, I need to rely on lyrics to understand their meaning. If there aren't desktop lyrics available, an awkward situation arises that I have to keep staring at this software. However, sometimes its two sentences can be quite distant,or when there are sentences that I can understand on my own, making the time in between very meaningless. If there were desktop lyrics, I could do more of what I want, just taking a glance while it reads the lyrics.

Of course, its benefits are definitely not limited to just this one, other people's needs will be different.

I assumed that the request was for floating lyrics on the Android homescreen, not to show the words on a separate Desktop PC.

    Andre

Yes, you're right about that. It's a feature that allows users to have Poweramp running in the background while still being able to view pinned lyrics.

Poweramp is an exceptional software, and I appreciate your continuous dedication in this aspect. This functionality is fundamental and highly important. I hope you understand our need for it. If you could implement this feature, it would surpass all other software for me.

I do not get this. Lyrics on desktop???? Poweramp does not run on any desktop.

    and

"convenient for people who like to listen to music while doing other things"

how is that convenient when you are doing other things???
