      Poweramp v3 Project Update   04/24/2017

As you may be aware, the Poweramp developer has been working hard on an updated material design user interface for Poweramp v3 which required a full ground-up rebuild of the code and is taking some time to get to a beta-test stage. See the forum thread for more details and to discuss.

  1. Hi, Please add a function that would allow you to take control of volume anywhere. It would be awesome if you could put volume knob on the playing music screen. It is very hard to navigate for the knob tab. I want to control volume without going into the specific screen. Many users will be happy having this function, which you could turn on or off. Thanks!
  2. This is the best player, I have tested a lot, but only two things are missing to enjoy music for real: 1. A-B reproduction options, so you can repeat a part of a song and studied it or enjoy it as never before. 2. Speed options. Because 105% of speed is the best way to listen your favorite songs, and slow them will help to understand it.
  3. Hello! First off, thank you for a great app! Been using it since version 1! I have a question for you about a feature to add. I can delete my music files directly off the sdcard from the folder mode and the album mode. However, in playlist mode, I can only remove the song from the playlist. Is it possible to be able to delete files from the sdcard, directly selected from the playlist? Thanks!
  4. Hi there! I have small problem. I have 401 songs on my phone and when I search one of them and I start playing that song, I have only one there 1/1 not 1/401. How to change it? It's a little bit annoying. I know I can change it, but I don't know how. When I installed this program again (I needed to restart my phone to zero level, some problems) I choose wrong option and now I don't know how to changed it.
  5. i would love to have a miniplayer on the bottom of the app, so that when you are browsing through your music, you can play/pause/skip the song an read the title/artist/album. the miniplayer could be placed instead of the folders/library bar (which I even don't use). in my opinion the folders/library ooption could be moved to the 3-dot-menu. it would be so great to have such a minplayer.
  6. I noticed that in the library menu, there was no option to sort songs by their year. Since the 'year' tag is defined for most MP3s, it would be a useful sorting option. Due to the lack of options in the meta display menu, I figured that the song's year, genre or track number tags could be offered as some of the options to display. For those of us who keep this option enabled, they would definitely add a small touch to the player UI. I've made some examples (using another skin): Year: Genre: Track:
  7. Hey all I love Power Amp and it is the only player that allows me to save playlists when my music is on the SD card (with other players the playlists are empty after a restart). However I really don't like that gradient background that is displayed behind the album covers. It would be great if there was an option to disable that and just have a black background. It would suit the simple design style of Power Amp better. Even if I zoom the covers the gradient is still visible in landscape. Also I have found no skins that feature a black or plain background. Another nice feature would be dropbox support (play in background). Cheers
  8. I, like many users it seems, organize my music library through folders. My primary desktop music player/organizer, MediaMonkey, has an excellent feature where you can display all the songs contained below a folder, even if those songs are not directly contained in that folder. For example: My first folder level is sorted by gene, and after that by artist, after that by album. I would like to be able to play all the songs in my electronic genre folder, (not possible by using the library genre sort, as I have 20+ subgenre's of electronic music) instead of only being able to play one album at a time. Similarly, I would like to be able to play all the songs under an artist's folder, or any other folder that I wish, that may contain multiple subfolders. I have been a Poweramp user since I got my first android device 4 years ago. I hope others will find this as useful as I do, and that it adds value to an already outstanding product.
  9. How do you get the player buttons (play/pause, last, next) to show continuously on song and artist lists across the bottom of the screen?
  10. I found out by accident that I can use my Android Winamp Player when selecting music I have uploaded to my 100GB Google Cloud Drive. It would be neat if Winamp could be allowed to also search for files in Google Cloud Drives and other popular cloud based directories. Many Android devices have very limited storage facilities which is best preserved for apps and cloud based systems are ideal for accessing music wherever you are and have internet connection. It should be possible to make a selection play list, perhaps from a downloaded copy of the song titles, and also an option to select and store songs for off-line use. In the meantime,I have found a GREAT way to store and enjoy my music wherever I am. Regds Tore
  11. It'll be really nice if you guys develop a Poweramp for desktops. I would definitely use Poweramp over Windows Media Player and iTunes. Right now, there aren't that many good desktop media players, and so I think Poweramp is a good candidate in helping people withdraw from those infamous players. Poweramp, to me is way better because it focuses on music and music quality rather than content purchases and ads. Other music players are stale, boring, kind of ugly, and lacks that passion/flare for music/sound. If you make Poweramp for desktops and enable syncing it with mobile, I'm all in. Looks way better, has more and better functions, and it is actually fun to use. Poweramp totally has potential against iTunes and WMP. As long as it is basically free to use and can run on Windows/Osx/Linux desktop and do all the necessary functions, I think a lot more people will appreciate it. It should be the superiority alternative to iTunes most definitely. Anyone want the same?
  12. Can u consider adding the option to set the lockscreen as the default lockscreen? The amp lockscreen looks awesome but is only there when I play music, even then it doesn't show up sometimes... it sometimes disappear after I pause the music. I would love it if it can be always there so I don't have to unlock the screen and type in the pins number in when I want to play the music.
  13. Poweramp has the best implementation of Shuffle I've ever seen. What I'm asking for here is an option to disable particular shuffle/repeat methods from coming up when the toggles are tapped (but still displaying them all when the toggle is long-pressed. That way, for example, you could set the Shuffle button to cycle between just Shuffle All/Shuffle Lists/Off.
  14. More often than not there are noticeable resizing artifacts on the album art displayed in the Player screen. It'd be nice if it had a smoother, "properly resized" look. Other than that, I'm absolutely loving Poweramp!
  15. I will be happy if administration will make also iOS,i meen, the same player also in Apple Store for Ipod's and Iphones.....I am ready also by the player for double price....This is my lovest player.....What you thin k about that?-Player also on iTunes and not only on Android Market?
  16. hello, i really love this app, i bought it and i use it all ths time and i think its almost perfect !!! the only thing that i think is missing, is a buttom in the player itself, that allows me to go to the album of ths specific song. maybe "go to artist" or "go to album" buttoms in the options menu, or swipe down and up over the album art to change to the next song in the album. i think it will make the app even better than now, because now it is pretty complicated to do what i am talking about, you need to go to the library, then choose albums, and then search the album that you want, and it is pretty difficult when you have almost 3000 songs like me... im sorry if you dont understand what i mean... my english is not the best. thank you very much, i hope you will find a solution for me and many others like me !
  17. When cyanogenmod is in a dock, it shows a special dock screen. One of the options is to launch your preferred music player and listen to music. However, Poweramp is not on this list. Is there any way for Poweramp to register itself as a music player with android so it will appear on such lists?
  18. Hi! I've been using Poweramp for about a year now and i just want to say that this is the BEST music player on the Android platform right now. I just wish the main player screen had a better "cover-flow" design and functionality. Right now it just shows you the art of the playing song, with a blurry color background. It looks good, but function wise it doesnt do much. Doing a long swipe only slides you to the next or previous song. Wouldn't it be better to show the album art of a few previous and succeeding songs, and dragging across the screen would scroll quickly through the album arts. If I wanted to go from song 1 then to song 30, i have to either tap the 'next' button 29 times, swipe 29 times, or go into the list view and select song 30 there. It would be so much simpler to just scroll quickly through album art from the main player screen. That, and it would look REALLY cool. ..oh and the sorting feature seems kinda whack, it won't sort with newest songs first. Tried ticking 'reverse' but still wont go. I always end up with the newest songs at the bottom.. Hope you can work these into a succeeding release , cheers! **I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Tab P1000 btw.
