Jerky playback on Hidizs AP200

I recently received my Hidizs AP200 having been a backer on their Kickstarter campaign. I found that the built in music player (Hiby) had really good sound quality but had drawbacks using it with Bluetooth in the car - I couldn't import m3u playlists to their internal formats and it couldn't transmit track information to my car's display. Both were possible with Poweramp v2. I thought I would try the v3 beta. Unfortunately playing back any kind of file results in about a second of playback and then a pause. I noticed in the v2 Audio options that it was possible to tweak the thread priority and the buffer size (not that I had to use those options) but they don't seem to be there in v3.

I guess I am going to have to revert to v2 unless anybody has any advice on getting around this playback issue.
