Sony WM-ZX2 Physical Volume Buttons

Hello All,

I have a Sony WM-ZX2 which I have recently purchased.  I have installed Poweramp on the player which is ver. Alpha-build-703-play (Full Version).  I have found out that the physical Volume up/down buttons do not work in the app whenever the screen is off.  The buttons do work when the screen is on.  The pause/stop and forward/back buttons work without issue.  Am I missing something or is this a bug or possible feature that need to be requested.  I suspect that this may be the same behavior for other Android based Hires music devices but cannot confirm.  Do the physical buttons work on the Fiio or iBasso for example?

I did a search on this topic but did not get any hits which is surprising
