  1. Well, even if I choose to stop using Poweramp, I've enjoyed it for years, and it has been well worth the price. I don't fault the developer. Just a bit disappointed.
  2. I am using the plain Albums view. See the screenshot below. Note that the first album is split into four albums (there are four different "artists" and "albumartists" in the tags for the songs in that album. If there's something different I should be doing with the settings, I'm not sure what it is.
  3. I dunno, I think the constant churn of software design and UI is not necessarily a good thing. And "improvements" are not always for the better. I'm sure we've all experienced that in some form or another. (Not speaking about Poweramp specifically. And if people like the new Poweramp, that's fine too.) Correct me if I'm wrong, but I assume that only a tiny fraction of users are involved in the feedback/development loop of apps like this. Almost all of the products I buy and use, I'm not involved in its ongoing development. I think that's normal.
  4. Yes, this is what I was thinking. However, I have thousands of files tagged using "artist" and "albumartist" in a different way. It sounds like V3 is just not going to work for me (and I'm not going to retag thousands of tracks to make Poweramp work again). In the case of Greatest Hits albums, I would name the albums something like "Greatest Hits [Beatles]", "Greatest Hits [Rod Stewart]", etc. I used the "artist" tag for something like "Sonny Rollins", while "albumartist" for the same album might be "Sonny Rollins Quintet featuring Art Blakey" (or whatever actually appears on the album cover). Unless Poweramp adds a feature that really would group albums of the same name but different "artist" and "albumartist", I'm not going to be able to use it easily. I never had any trouble with V2 though. It worked just fine even with my alternative tagging method.
  5. I am using the "Albums" list, not "Albums by Artist." See screenshot below. Note that the first album is broken up into four "albums" according to the artist and albumartist tags, which happen to be the same in each case. I suspect my tagging does not play well with how Poweramp V3 sorts and lists albums. In V2 these split albums appeared as single albums. (I also have the "Join Albums" feature enabled, if that matters.)
  6. Not customizable enough, unfortunately! Which is sort of the issue. I'd like to make it look and act the way I like it. All the added features is what made me choose Poweramp in the first place. Although, I really don't want to sound like I'm complaining too much. I realize Poweramp an inexpensive, highly functional player, and I'm sure a lot of time, thought, and effort goes into it. It's just a bummer that some of the features I liked don't work the same way in V3. But you can't please everybody.
  7. I do. I think the issue is that I'm using the "artist" and "albumartist" tags in a way that Poweramp V3 doesn't work well with. I may be using these tags in a nonstandard way. In which case I think I'll be looking for a new player (or downgrading to V2). I have something 25,000 songs on my computer using this tagging system. (Not all would be affected the same way, but several thousand would, I think.)
  8. So, if the "Album Artist" tag is different on different songs, the album will be split into different albums? This was not the behavior of V2. I have a very large number of compilation albums where both the "artist" and "album artist" differ from song to song. Am I just SOL with Poweramp V3?
  9. For what it's worth (not much, I assume), I think this seek bar, even the static version, just adds clutter to the screen and is hard to "grab" when seeking through a song. I guess it's supposed to be a crude waveform?
  10. I wish I didn't have to be "involved" in things that I purchase and enjoy before they are just summarily taken away and replaced with something else. I mean, I have enough going on in my life without being "involved" in app development.
  11. I'm having a similar problem. I'm not sure if it's exactly the same as the OP's. I have many compilation albums with several artists represented (using the "artist" and "albumartist" metadata tags on ogg vorbis files). When I open the "Albums" list, Poweramp separates these compilation albums into separate "albums" by artist. This results in the album being split into dozens, or even over a hundred different little "albums" for some of my larger compilations (large multi-disc box sets). This makes navigation very difficult and annoying. I tend to most often listen to whole albums and find them through the album list view. While there are other aspects of the new release that I really don't like, this particular problem is a total deal-breaker for me. I've attached some screenshots showing the album list view, and a sample of the metadata for one of the songs.
