I'm in search of android radio for car that allows EQ to be set as default as described in this thread. It works in my phone but not on current android tablet I have in my car because it has android 8.1 which most Android players of Chinese origin are loaded with. I found one when visiting a shop and it was a real android 10 tablet. Shop keeper didn't allow me to play with the device for long. Poweramp EQ was installed without an issue. So, my question is, will this guide work on it? That device also has it's own DSP app allowing to control sound adjustments (bass, treble, fader etc.). Can this app bypass it like on normal android phones? I know most Android phones have Android 13-14 in recent times.

I have almost similar problem on my car Head Unit. It's an ac8227l based model with 1GB Ram and android version 8.1.0. Everything worked fine, Poweramp player was fine. I updated the firmware which made minor changes to UI. I had to reinstall the player and now volume is very, all other apps have better volume at 15 point( 40 max). Poweramp achieve same volume at about 27. If I disable DVC, the volume becomes same as of 15 points with other apps but to my eyes I don't think the sound quality is same, I maybe wrong. Before update, I just adjusted the EQ from app, no other changes. After update just reinstall with same EQ settings. Can you suggest what I should be checking?

It's such a weid situation that Poweramp player works with Android 8 flawlessly, with equalizer produce great quality sound but the standalone equalizer requires android 9 at minimum. Is there an old version that support Android 8?

My android car head-unit, model 8227L is based on Android 8.1 Go. Unfortunately, can't install this equalizer app, the Poweramp player works fine. Is there any way to install the equalizer or use the player to set other apps use the equalizer of Poweramp?
