So if I'm getting it right, theres really no difference between them, open or audiotrack certainly not that most ears can tell anyway.

Here's where I read an article on here, Poweramp setting, the Russian one, Quote AudioTrack Output (Java based) is something that users put up with throughout the early versions of Android. It is highly discouraged to use such sound output. The sound is controlled by Java software with huge latencies. OpenSL ES Output (Native optimized) - OpenSL ES accelerated audio output. What works on most smartphones, this output is active by default in the player. Why is it so good? It is optimized for hardware and low-level software, in other words, it works with lower latencies and with acceptable sound quality at the output. Unquote

Thanks. Guess that if it's selected as default somebody must think this is best. I least I've got everything else sorted so can play with audiotrack and opensl, can I ask which would you choose and why? Have looked on Google and quite a few views are opensl but don't explain in simple terms why that is.

Thanks. I think I'm going to stick with the default for now it seems easier as I mentioned I'm not sure there is a difference instead I think I'm expecting a change, placebo effect maybe.

Hi, sorry to go over this again but I can't get my head around which is better, sound almost the same. I use Samsung tablet Bluetooth to my hifi, all flat at pa as well as on the hifi, now the default comes up as audiotrack, but I can use opensl or aaudio, now is there any real difference between them, read opensl is the way to go if that's the case why is audiotrack selected as default, the aaudio upscales it to 96khz, confused is not the word, I need it simple so I can understand. So guys what should I choose?

Hi, would it be possible to have the alphabetical search on the folder Hierarchy the same as is on the album search instead of just scrolling, the bit on the right hand side.

Hi, have added to my search list the folder Hierarchy option, my question is when you click on it it takes me to the icon which is album art from an artist how do I change this artwork from it being an album cover to just a plain icon.

Don't have a computer/laptop, I always go through the tags when I've either downloaded or ripped, in the days, so I think I should be ok, was more concerned that if it happened to me it might have happened to someone else who might not be so lucky.

Oh ok, sometimes the embedded art work isn't great so occasionally I do update it, did a back up anyhow only took a couple of minutes, like a lot of back ups we won't know it works until we need and then it's in the hands of the gods.

A thought, if I export the settings but include album art as well would this be another solution, check my albums at random and most are embedded only a few aren't.

Hi, to me this is interesting, when connected to my hifi by Bluetooth the default on pa is audiotrack but with this I find I need to put a bit of bass and treble on the hifi but if I change it to opensl es it can stay flat on the hifi. Can anyone explain why this is the case, I read somewhere on here about using opensl es only, need more advise.

Hi, just thought I'd add this. My tablet has just updated, android, and for some reason some album art ending up not being very clear a bit blurred, wasn't a big issue as it wasn't many although I needed to check them through.
