As I have several flights coming up, I have once more uninstalled and reinstalled both the app and the unlocker (bought 6-2-13), to see if it makes any difference at all.
Sadly, I've also taken the step of installing two other music player apps as very much needed backup.
Last chance. Max didn't reply to my message from June 25 either.
Quite sad, as I do like the app, but enough is enough.

All the cases with "license failed in airplane mode" that was investigated shown that given customers had no valid license at all (refunded, cancelled by google, or card declined, etc.) Poweramp still continues to work in this case, but fails to do the second check (within 24 hours from purchase), and license checking is continued until grace period ends (can be weeks for infrequent player usage).
I just checked my email, I paid for my licence in 2013. Yet, I have still had a number of cases where the app quit on me midflight. I reinstalled app and unlocker after every incidence, and then it went wrong again. Recently I seem to've been lucky with the check timing. I find it hard to believe that every single case you've looked at was due to lack of valid licence.

Hi all,
I've signed up especially because of this thread. Sorry to say I've had the same problem happening several times, always on a flight, with the phone in airplane mode, most recently twice in a week and a half, on the way out, and on the way back - very frustrating. Running Poweramp 2.0.10-build 588-play, with version 2-build-26 of the unlocker, on a Samsung S5 with Android 6.0.1.
I like Poweramp for the most, and music, with my Bose noise-cancellation headphones, is a life saver on a flight (or train ride, actually), but I'm actually getting to the point of looking for an alternative. Having to realise that it's not working - again - due to not being able to check the licence, and having to switch to the stock player - again - is not what I got this for. I realise it wasn't much money, but still...
Cheers,
Olaf
Why does Poweramp need to verify license through Google Play when Poweramp Unlocker is installed?

So on the positive side, during my trip to Canada I had no problems for the first time. Flight mode, and Poweramp kept playing. On the negative side, this was the first time in quite a while, and after all the times when it did stop midflight, I'll never trust the app again (yes, I tried to contact Max, but never got a reply, and yes, I have a valid licence). I've looked at alternatives, and I will switch to Blackplayer as my primary music player. It comes with good reviews, and some options that Poweramp doesn't have.
Poweramp may never give up midflight from here on in, but frankly this is a trust issue now, which it never should have become.
