      Poweramp v3 Project Update   04/24/2017

As you may be aware, the Poweramp developer has been working hard on an updated material design user interface for Poweramp v3 which required a full ground-up rebuild of the code and is taking some time to get to a beta-test stage. See the forum thread for more details and to discuss.

  1. I am looking to integrate AutoVoice and Tasker to create custom voice commands of my own for Poweramp to do/say the following - 1. Song "song name" 2. Album "album name" 3. Genre "genre" 4. Playlist "playlist name" The idea is to be able to replicate a search/filter action and then trigger Poweramp to play the searched/filtered list. So far I have been able to do only get the song filter working, using the following settings in Tasker - Action - com.maxmpz.audioplayer.API_COMMAND Data - content://com.maxmpz.audioplayer.data/files?flt=%songname Extra - cmd:20 I am unable to trigger the Library Search, that is the reason I have to rely on filtering. content://com.maxmpz.audioplayer.data/search Also I am unable to get the following working - to play albums, playlists, genres respectively using - Data - content://com.maxmpz.audioplayer.data/albums?flt=%albumname Data - content://com.maxmpz.audioplayer.data/playlists?flt=%albumname Data - content://com.maxmpz.audioplayer.data/genres?flt=%albumname Am I doing anything wrong, the song filtering and play seems to work fine. How do I get this working for album, playlist and genre search using Tasker??? Thanks, dharminrs
  2. Would like to see voice control feature to change pause play music...something similar to gesture control but with voice
  3. Hey I saw a topic similar to this in August, and a moderator acknowledged the suggestion, but I was wondering on the status of this: When you voice search (using Voice Actions / Google Now) Poweramp will respond as an optional intent to "Listen to..". However, Poweramp will pull up a list of results as if you had used the search function in the app. I'd like to further suggest that if one result is found (aka - high confidence), Poweramp should automatically enqueue the song and start playing it immediately. As nice as it would be to tap into the Voice Actions API, I know it is not possible to add custom voice actions such as "enqueue <song>" vs "play <song>". Some pseudocode: private void VoiceSearch(string[] VoiceToTextResult) { if (VoiceToTextResult.length == 1) { if (GetResultType(VoiceToTextResult[0]) == ResultType.Song) PlaySong(VoiceToTextResult[0]); else if (GetResultType(VoiceToTextResult[0]) == ResultType.Artist) PlayArtist(VoiceToTextResult[0]); else if (GetResultType(VoiceToTextResult[0]) == ResultType.Album) PlayAlbum(VoiceToTextResult[0]) } private ResultType GetResultType(string text) { ResultType result; //Logic return result; } public enum ResultType { Song, Artist, Album } Then add additional options toggling auto-play or whether to enqueue the result array or add it to the current playlist. Google Music does something like this, and I'm sure the fine devs of Poweramp are just as capable This is one of the minor things holding me back from getting the full version unlocker, as I use this feature a lot while driving. I'd provide more code but of course I have no access to the source so I'm not sure how PowerAmps functions work.
  4. I launch google voice search and say "listen to disturbed". Poweramp launches and the search screen opens with albums/tracks listed by the artist Disturbed. Then it sits there waiting for me to press something. Problem is, I'm on a bike and my phone is in a pack inaccessible at the time. I'd like to be able to "listen to disturbed" and have it just play all of their songs randomly without any user interaction needed on the phone. Is there a setting I can tweak to make this happen? "listen to playlist name" would also be great.
  5. I love that Poweramp is integrated with Google Voice Search, but I think it could go one step further and let you set a default action for the "Listen to..." command. Right now, it is essentially like doing a search within Poweramp and showing you the list of results. Since I (and I'm sure many others) primarily use the voice search in my car, this causes me to still have to look down and make a selection on my phone after the search. I think it would be convenient if we could have a default action once the search completes: either play top result, enqueue top result, or show results (the current implementation). My personal favorite would be the enqueue option, that way if I'm listening to a playlist but have a sudden urge to listen to a random song in my library, I could tell easily tell my phone to play it, after which it would return to the playlist, all without having to look at the screen. Thanks for the consideration.
  6. Does anyone know how to get Poweramp to automatically start playing a song through voice command? Right now, when I hold the "search" button on my phone, and use the "Listen to" command, it'll open up Poweramp with the song selected but i still have to "click" on it to start playback. I tried setting the winamp app as the default for the "listen to" command and with winamp, the song starts playing back automatically. This is the preferable behavior. Any ideas how to replicate this on Poweramp?
