      Poweramp v3 Project Update   04/24/2017

As you may be aware, the Poweramp developer has been working hard on an updated material design user interface for Poweramp v3 which required a full ground-up rebuild of the code and is taking some time to get to a beta-test stage. See the forum thread for more details and to discuss.

  1. I decided to go with Android and bought a new Galaxy S7 a few days ago. I have a large music library in iTunes but now I don't know how to move those music to Android, so that I can play then on Poweramp app. What is the right way to do that?
  2. I love Poweramp, and it's currently my only way of reading music directly from a USB-OTG, but Poweramp can't read the iTunes data (stars, number of plays, etc) that iSyncr creates. The only player that I know of that can do that is Rocket Player. I would love it if Poweramp could read iTunes data created by iSyncr just like Rocket Player. Thank you!
  3. Hi, iTunes has a convenient feature which allows users to export their entire library info such as playlists, play counts, song genres, song ratings, etc. to a ".xml" (the feature can be found under: "File > Export Library"). There are not a lot of easy ways to sync iTunes with Android devices: "Easy Phone Tunes", "iSyncr", and "Double Twist" to name a few, but I want a solution which allows me to manage my music without downloading additional software. What I would like is this: let me copy my iTunes folder along with the Library.xml file to my device and have Poweramp recognize the .xml file and use it for library management to create my playlists, set song start/stop timing, etc. A lot of Android users still use iTunes to manage their music. I think that if Poweramp included this feature, it could get a lot of attention from those users who are looking for an awesome music player which is highly iTunes compatible! Thanks for considering the request,
  4. I use iSyncr to sync my iTunes library daily with my phone. The process works perfectly with Poweramp and I have no problem with Poweramp getting the new playlists and files once they are synced. Recently iTunes has moved to the M4A format for many of the podcasts I subscribe to. Unfortuantely these files are only able to be played by Poweramp from the beginning. Once I try to fast forward, rewind, or pause the song, the file cannot be restarted by Poweramp. The application then goes to the next track in the playlist or tries to play the file from the beginning. If I right click the Podcast in iTunes and use the "Convert to AAC Format" feature, which still leaves the M4A extension, I am able to play/pause/fast forward/rewind the file without a problem in Poweramp. I believe the only difference between these two files is that the newly converted M4A does not have the "Chaptering" features that the original file has. Does Poweramp support M4A chaptering? Will this be fixed in the future? 5. First off, I want to say that I've really enjoyed this app and I'll be making my purchase soon. With that said there's something that I'd really like to see implemented in a future update. That would be the ability to crop songs like the feature you can find on iTunes. I have a lot of songs where I can't stand to listen to the beginning or hear dead silence towards the end and I'd like to be able to crop those parts out so I don't have to take my phone from the holder on the front window of my car when I'm using it as a navigation device. Consideration would be appreciated and make me horny.
  6. 2.0.9 build 529 full version HTC One android 4.1.2 I use isyncr to get my itunes playlists and ratings onto the HTC One. but power amp cannot get the ratings information at all. is there anyway to do this? i paid for this player years ago and the issue still hasn't been resolved. rocket player can do it as can others.
  7. It would be nice to have ratings from iTunes in Poweramp. I use ratings heavily along with Auto Playlists and Play Counts. Play Counts in iTunes work perfect. Just not the ratings. It definitely would be nice to use. I use iSyncr and the app syncs Play Counts as well as Ratings....Audio Apps such as PlayerPro and Rocket Player has the feature to sync Ratings, but they have nowhere close to the sound output and tweaking options that Poweramp does. I might just not know how to do it if it is available so any advice would be helpful.
  8. Hey guys, I've had Poweramp for a long time, and I love it. While I still believe it's the best music app available, it's lacking one commonly used (and simple) feature: play count. Many people use play count and skip count to create playlists or to simply browse your library to see what you should remove from the collection. Please consider adding play/skip count to future versions of Poweramp! Thanks, and keep up the great work.
  9. Hello, I'm fairly new to Poweramp and reasonably techy. However it is all a bit overwhelming and I've reached a mental brick wall in trying to achieve something which I think should be quite straight forward (and indeed, in PlayerPro, is). I would like to sync my playlists in iTunes with Poweramp, to the point that every time I make a change in iTunes (and then sync using isyncr), the changes are reflected in Poweramp. Could someone explain exactly what the recommended workflow is here? I have obviously imported my playlists into Poweramp, and they all appear as a list with the prefix 'Imported'. I have had to turn auto-rescan off as only 75% of the songs would show up in the playlist (despite the files being there) - I know this is a separate, reported issue. But then when I update the playlist and resync, it's not reflected in the Imported playlist. I guess I can remove the playlist or reimport. But all of this seems like too many steps for something obvious, so I presume I'm missing a much simpler way of doing this. Can someone please advise? Thanks
  10. I'm sure this has been asked before, but how do I import my I-tunes playlists to Poweramp? I'm running Windows 7, Have a Motorola Triumph from Virgin Mobile running Android 2.2.2 (Motorola/ Virgin hasn't released an upgrade for it yet). Let me know, I like Poweramp so far and would rather use it than my Ipod.
  11. I feature I really liked from iTunes was the "Sound Check" option so that I never had to adjust the sound for individual quieter or louder songs, because iTunes would do it for you. Now I'm back to always adjusting the volume. Can you please add a similar feature to Poweramp please?
