Dave@Poweramp
I wonder if Poweramp can play audio in the background when the phone is on standby (android 6.0). Consider this a feature request if it can't in its current version.
andrewilley
It can, yes. Screen-off playback has been a feature since day one. Andre
Dave@Poweramp
Any help (instructions/links) on how I could playback on screen-off would help. Thanks.
Dave@Poweramp
Nope - I've looked at every option in there and I just cannot seem to get Poweramp to continue playing on screen-off!
andrewilley
Then you probably have a problem with your device or ROM disabling background apps, possibly as a part of a power-saving option? It would also be worth checking Poweramp Settings > Misc > Tweaks, and make sure that 'Use Wakelock' and 'Keep Service' are both ticked too. Dave@Poweramp
I did that too - Ticked both 'Use Wavelock' and 'Keep Service' too. Also checked batt optimization - Nothing seems to work!
andrewilley
Then you seem to have a problem with your particular device shutting down the app (what device is it by the way?) as by design playback should continue after the screen goes to sleep. Does this work with any other apps? Have you tried asking in the support forums for the device? Andre
Dave@Poweramp
#1The Device - Its a Lenovo Phab 2 Plus. #2 Does this work with any other apps? - Good point - I tried VLC and it doesn't work. #3 Have you tried asking in the support forums for the device? - Nope
andrewilley
It's a pretty new phone so Google doesn't throw up much, but I did find the following on Facebook. Does it only happen when you've got a headset plugged in, or also on speakers and/or Bluetooth also? Andre
