steviep
Hi Max, I am a very happy Poweramp user for nearly four years now but have some concerns over losing v2 to v3 when it goes live. Apologies if I'm in the wrong place, but am new to this.. Steve
andrewilley
Poweramp v3 will be a free automatic upgrade for existing v2 users, when it's fully ready. You can always block updates if you want to stick with v2 for some reason though. Andre
steviep
Thanks for the suggestion Andre.Yeah could do that, but am concerned that if I have to re download the app for some reason then only v3 would be available on the play store.I have a fairly basic set up, but after testing v3 for a couple of weeks I've found that v2 gives me a better sound, although I do realise that we are still in the testing stage. Is there anyone out there that feels the same. andrewilley
Everyone I've heard from says v3 sound is far superior to v2, but your decision is down to your ears of course. You will not be able to roll back via Google Play, but you could do via download copies from the website here. Andre
My1
but can you use the apk to get the full version even with playstore? also since you also use the "unlocker" concept (at least in the playstore) you could do it similar to solid explorer and keep the old version as "classic" and also upload the new version and the unlocker unlocks both. andrewilley
The APK files that you download from the forums here (either the v2 release builds or the new v3 builds) will continue to work if you are a user of the Google Play unlocker. You'll just need to stop Android from automatically 'updating' you to the latest version. Andre
My1
well when you install the APK *usually* the paystore wont update you. at least that's what I mostly experienced.
andrewilley
I think it does in PA's case. I've sometimes forgotten to install a very minor bugfix build APK from here, and a week or so later Play will offer to install it from the subsequent general release. My1
maybe they (google) changed it someday or PA does something to link itself to playstore.
