This still does not make full use of the Sabre DAC on the V20.  No native DSD support no support for PCM>192khz

Any idea of when the Sabre DAC in the LG V20 will be supported?

I would be happy to contribute money to the project to get this product to fully utilize the ESS Sabre DAC in the LG V20.  It does not work with it.

So... if the phone doesnt even have the "Hi-res" in the output menu, http://imgur.com/KKuPEdo it means it doesn't have an internal DAC?

(I've read that Nougats need to try build 704, but i have already followed the opt-in link to become a tester and I can only get build 703.)

and this one http://imgur.com/z5rcbs5 (xiaomi mi mix) means it's using the DAC intergrated in the snapdragon chip? If so, is this DAC any good?

No, it means that the Poweramp ALPHA test build 704 that was released a year ago does not yet support the internal high-rez DAC on that device (or with the particular ROM in use), not that there isn't a DAC there.

You are right that for Nougat you should be using Poweramp test build 704 though, which you can find in the Downloads tab at the top of this page.

before in android 6 i can enable Hi-Res

It may not fix your problem, but it's worth checking to make sure you are using Poweramp build 704 which has some tweaks for Nougat ROMs.

Andre

The 704 build does NOT see the Sabre DAC on the LG V20 contrary to what others have reported.  If this is incorrect, please send me the settings and screen shot showing anything other than Snapdragon DAC in use in the application.  Thanks.

2. Android 6.0.1 (Stock ROM)

3. It works for wired headphones/headsets. Haven't tried with USB DAC. Very unclear music with Bluetooth headphones and speaker. I've shared the audio_policy.conf file, though I don't know what it means ?.

You are using Poweramp build 704 aren't you? Other users have reported their S8 phones as working. (e.g. http://forum.powerampapp.com/index.php?/topic/8736-list-of-android-devices-with-hi-res-audio-support-internal-dac/&page=8#comment-40522 )

Andre

I'm using a LG V20 smartphone. LG V20 supports 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC.

Unfortunately, It seems that current Poweramp v3 is not supported the Hi-Res Output function for this device.

Is there a method to enable this function, forcibly?

Plz check this problem?out.

Your device supports Hi-Res audio _output_* (at least 24bit, at least 96khz sampling rate), but Poweramp v3.0 alpha doesn't support it?
Request the support here!

Please provide (requests without these items will be deleted):

  1. Device model
  2. ROM version (Android version, stock/OTA/Custom ROM)
  3. Why do you think your device supports Hi-Res (link to device features, etc.)? A copy of your device's /etc/audio_policy.conf file may be helpful.

Please note, this is for Hi-Res output requests, just playback (with resampling) of hi-res audio is already implemented by Poweramp v2.0 for all devices/ROMs.
