I see them on my external card as M3U and PLU but no matter how many times I re scan they dont show. Ive tried this with custom roms and stock roms. flyingdutchman Posted December 23, 2015 Share Posted December 23, 2015 The fact that they still work on your old phone is because the path details for the tracks are valid. Your new phone probably arranges (mounts) the sdcard differently so the paths for each track are no longer valid. You can check this by using a text editor, open a playlist and note the path information. Now try and follow this path by browsing. You will probably find that the path to your music is different. Although Poweramp imports native playlists, it does not import m3u playlist. I have added this functionality to my app so you can import your m3u playlists which will create native android playlists and export them again as m3u. thegameksk Posted December 25, 2015 Author Share Posted December 25, 2015 When I first switched, they were working fine. Then I noticed a few days ago my playlists vanished in Poweramp. I can see them on my SD card when using a file explore but no matter how many times I try to import they wont show up. Some do still work others dont. When I put the sd card back into my old phone, all playlists will show up. Just tried importing and all it did was readded the playlists that already are working. andrewilley Posted December 25, 2015 Share Posted December 25, 2015 Import does not load file-based playlists, it brings in any Android system playlists. Poweramp's regular music scanner should find file-based lists, as long as they are stored in a location that is ticked in the Music Folders list. To clear all stored info and force a full rescan of all the selected Music Folders, go to Settings > Folders and Library > Full Rescan . I see 2 files in my SD card: One that says PLB which is 19.7kb and the other is .m3u which is also 19.7 kb but under the playlist name it says 0 files. andrewilley Posted December 29, 2015 Share Posted December 29, 2015 I've no idea what a .PLB file is (possibly a playlist backup from somewhere?) but the one that Poweramp wants is the .M3U file (or .M3U8, which is a UTF-8 extended character set version). If you look at that in a text editor it should show the music files which will be included in the list (this could be a very simple filenames-only list, or with paths, or with some extra information which some systems add and use). You can upload it via any file-sharing site, or even cut'n'paste the text contents into a message here. Info on TheoKlink's app can be found via the links in his sig I think. andrewilley Posted December 30, 2015 Share Posted December 30, 2015 With the "/" at the start, those are path references to folders at the root level of the location where the playlist file is located, do those paths all exist? Also the random characters may mean it's using extended characters in places. Also the random characters before the #EXTM3U header seem odd, you could try a test version with that whole line removed (it's not necessary in PA). What generated the playlist file in the first place by the way? What is the folder structure on your device, and where in the playlist file located?
