StartPlayingQueue=Immediately doesn't work.

I have Start Playing Queue set to "Immediately", the Queue is empty, there is nothing playing, I go to All Songs, apply a filter, pick a song and click it to add it to the Queue.

=> Playback doesn't start.

"Start Playing Queue Immediately" assumes that the player is currently playing something, and that the queued item should take over immediately. Otherwise there would be nothing for it to return to after the queue was completed, so you might as well just tap on the song title itself to start it playing normally, and then add any other items to the queue (deferred) once the first track is playing.

No it doesn't, it says "Start Playing Queue Immediately", not "Start Playing Queue Immediately If Something Else Is Already Playing". There is no explanation in the app itself that that's how it's supposed to work, so on the face of it I consider this a bug.

There is no need to "return" to anything, just play the Queue and be done with it. "Returning" is an option at my discretion and I have disabled it, as I don't think of the Queue as a temporary escape from the "normal" use case of playing predefined/static lists but rather as my main use case of play-and-select-as-you-go.

If you want to think of it that way please feel free to do so if it happens to work for you - but as currently designed and implemented, the Queue is a way to temporarily jump away from regular playback to play a few specific files and then return to regular playback afterwards. However I'll move this thread to Feature Requests for you.

It's not a feature request, it's a bug report, and since you're not on the app development team (according to your signature) you shouldn't get to make this kind of call, but whatever.

No. As currently implemented it's just buggy. When you can show me where on the interface or in the documentation it says the Queue is what you say it is, I'll believe you. But I have to hear it from the development team, not from some random other user of the app who is simply entitled to his own opinions. You don't get to define what the app's functionalities mean or don't mean just because you're a forum mod.

So you're saying posting feature requests and bug reports in this forum is basically useless? Then why care so much whether my thread is in one category or the other (and why not move it back once you gave up on arguing with me)? :)

These forums are monitored by the dev, just not quite as regularly as you'd probably like. I've passed your message on anyway, in case it's something he feels he can add into the v2 build in meantime while he's working on the v3 audio engine.

I'll leave this thread here in Feature Requests for now though, as Poweramp is performing as per its current design (even if you'd prefer it worked differently, and to be fair you do have a very sensible point).
