andrewilley
Just wondering if there is any reason that PowerAMP could be doing anything that might cause the "last modified" time/date stamps on MP3 files to be changed?I use wi-fi synchronising software which copies any new audio files in certain folders on my PC over to the phone, and also mirrors any deletes back to the PC - but for some reason, sometimes the time/date stamp on the phone's copy of an MP3 file seems to get changed later, so subsequently the sync software spots this difference as an updated file and copies what it thinks is a "new" version back to the PC. Not a problem, but with large files it can be a bit time-consuming and it shouldn't be happening.Andre
admin
PowerAMP (or actually Android filesystem implementation) will do this only if you Edit tag in the song - song is changed of course in this case. Otherwise, files are opened for read-only.
andrewilley
Hmm, I never edit tag in PowerAMP (didn't know you could in fact). Could just displaying the tag do this perhaps?Andre
admin
No, just playing/displaying won't write to sd card. Note that PowerAMP creates small albumart.pamp files in folders (album art thumbs, where exist), but it doesn't modify song files. Thanks!
andrewilley
Must be something else that's doing it then. I'll keep an eye on the timedate stamps of when files get changed and see if I can work out why or what's doing it.Andre
