MRink
Hopefully I'll explain these well enough. Please let me know if you have any questions or if I'm just missing a setting somewhere? I have albums with the same album title from multiple artists (Greatest Hits). I'm noticing the following bugs... - From 'Artists' list, no matter which of those artists I select, the album list shows the same album cover artwork for the Greatest Hits albums. (So for most of the artists it's the wrong cover, only correct for one of the artists.) I think it's showing the album cover of whichever of the Greatest Hits albums had a track played most recently. (FWIW, if I select a Greatest Hits album with wrong artwork, the small artwork appearing at the top of the songs list will be correct. If I play a song, the artwork is also correct.) - From the 'Genre' list, if I select a genre that includes multiple albums with the same name, there will be just one entry in the list, labeled for just one of the artists. If I select that album, the song list will contain all songs from all artists/albums in that genre with that album title. (For instance, the list shows "Greatest Hits / Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers (36 songs)". I select that, and see the 36 songs are comprised of 18 Tom Petty songs and 18 songs from another artist's Greatest Hits album.) Thank you. MRink
I ran across this related thread:forum.powerampapp.com/index.php?/topic/6837-albums-with-same-name-how-to-avoid-grouping Is the workaround of "Greatest Hits (Artist Name)" still the recommendation for the bugs I noticed? andrewilley
Yup, that'll work fine. Otherwise Poweramp sees an exact matching album title and treats it as the same album (yes, it should ideally confirm with the other tags such as Artist or Album Artist to tell the difference, but the current version does not and gets confused).
