outerspacex
I would love to see that Poweramp is following a universal file format and be compatible with other device/ players. This especially true for playlist. M3u would be the way to go.
flyingdutchman
spaceman,as you have discovered, Poweramp maintains its own database. No other player can see this. However, when creating playlists, I have developed an app which uses the native android database but checks if you have Poweramp installed. If you have, then it offers the additional tags such as rating, times played and last played. This way you have the best of both worlds. Although these playlists are created in the native android database, I provide an m3u export facility which Poweramp will play. I provide a detailed guide on how to set Poweramp up for this.have a look at my app called Playlist Managerhttps://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.flyingdutchman.playlistmanager&hl=en You can email me if you want to discuss; email address can be found on the Google page
