sail4fun201
Hi,When I sync my phone with my computer using Doubletwist Airsync, it usually requires a restart before any other players on my phone are updated with the new playlist information. I know that this is not a problem with Poweramp itself, but I figured I'd ask if you knew of any solution to this problem other than rebooting my phone? It's really cool to be able to sync over WiFi, but not if I have to reboot my phone for the playlists to update in my favorite player. Also, how will the custom library implementation in 2.0 affect this sync functionality? Will Poweramp still be able to get the stock playlist information that is stored with the system? If not, can this be an option? DoubleTwist is currently the best option Android users have to sync music - their player app leaves a lot to be desired, and I definitely prefer Poweramp. I just want to make sure that the update won't mess up my ability to sync easily with my computer. Thanks!
admin
Hi,1. I don't think you need to reboot your phone, as on standard Android, system media scanner it triggered by the SD card mount event.Though, it can be slow with scanning, taking up to 1 hour per 8gb of new music (Nexus 1, 6class sd card).2. PowerAMP v2.0 will have completely custom implementation of Library, which will use own scanner (similar to used now for Folders, but a bit faster).System library playlists will be imported once on PowerAMP installation, and then it can be imported manually. I haven't planned automated sync of playlists from system library yet, but it's possible, though, only one way (system library => poweramp). Still, automated sync like this can make more troubles (due to the playlists being overwritten), so it can be only optional for users who really need it. sail4fun201
If that's how it's going yo be set to get playlist info, how are you supposed to update the apps playlists after you sync with a computer and say, add a new playlist? admin
PowerAMP v2.0 will support few playlist formats (e.g. m3u) directly, so it won't import them from the system library after the sync with a computer, but it will directly scan them.
