Just got a new Pixel 9, on Android 14, on Poweramp Pro build 988 . . .

The audio sounds fine at first, but if I open another app, even Chrome, or if I have some apps running I'm the background, the audio is sounds staticy, very frequent and small cut-outs.

I've tested on native speakers, wired headphones, and blue tooth speakers . . . It persists until I restart the app.

I've compared with other music apps to see if it was the device, and other music apps/YouTube do not cut out.

Sounds like Poweramp is being starved of processor access when it's relegated to background operation (unless this also happens with the screen on and Poweramp in the foreground).

Could you make sure it is not set for and power or battery optimisation modes, etc.

Andre

Hi Andre,

Thanks for the reply.

The static happens in the foreground, too.

I'll open the app, start listening, and then if I want to look at Chrome or something, I'll switch apps.  That's when the static starts.

When I close the other apps and put Poweramp in the foreground, it continues until I restart the app.

On Android 14, I check the app and it has all the permissions.  I just added it to "essential app" in the "battery saver" setting, to see if that helps. But I'm hardly ever in battery saver mode.

I had Poweramp on my Sony Xperia recently, and there was no issue there.

Did you start with a fresh install of Poweramp, or transfer the settings from your previous device?

I would reset all of the audio output features in the settings then listen from there.
