mmklos
It would be fantastic if Poweramp supported NAS and network shares like SMB or DLNA. I’ve been using foobar2000 mobile for this purpose, and it handles network resources effortlessly. While the UI of foobar2000 is initially more basic, with the NewMoon 2.0 skin it actually surpasses Poweramp’s design. Plus, it’s free, and you can easily share access to your NAS library with family and friends, making it a great substitute for Spotify. Definitely worth considering as an additional feature! ikonomov
I've been wanting this feature for a long time as well. Specifically a proper SMBv2 and SMBv3 support. Falenone
access to such sources won't support all Poweramp Library features as it's not feasible to scan large music collection for tags over network. The access will be implemented for Folders/Folders Hierarchy/Playlist categories only. Could there be some kind of a docker container sitting between the phone and library that could speed it up by scanning it on the nas hardware and send the "scan result" to my phone? I've been wanting this feature for years. All the other players are inferior like synology/qnap etc. I'd love to play my small collection of 20 000 flacs anywhere as if it was a music streaming service Link to comment https://forum.powerampapp.com/topic/28570-support-for-playing-music-stored-locally-on-nas-etc/#findComment-133438 Share on other sites
andrewilley
You would need more than an option to scan the LAN for NAS/SMB content if you want to play it from anywhere. That fits more with online streaming of content from Google Drive, Dropbox, etc. Andre Link to comment https://forum.powerampapp.com/topic/28570-support-for-playing-music-stored-locally-on-nas-etc/#findComment-133440 Share on other sites
