I have several BT headsets and I always have to toggle the Hi-Res Output depending on which BT headset are connected. Is there a way to have this setup automatically; or does anyone know if this might be implemented? I understand Hi-Res is still in the experimental phase.

Currently there is no method to adjust the Output mode based on physical hardware specs, only by general mode - Speaker, Wired/AUX, Bluetooth, USB-DAC, etc. BT devices can be assigned by name for EQ Profiles, and I agree the Output details out to be adjustable in the same way - both for Bluetooth and USB-DACs (for example I have one DAC that maxes out at 96kHz, and a couple of others that can go up to 384kHz, but currently there is only one Output setting available).

There is an existing votable Feature Request to change the hierarchy of the Audio=>Output menu (suggested by me, as many users find the current drill-down layout confusing with the amount of options now available) which would tie in nicely with your request, so I'll add it into the wording.

The original idea was to simplify the menu structure, which has become a bit unwieldy over time. My suggestion to incorporate both requests would be that the Audio=>Output menu shows a simple list of devices in the format below. All the physical devices would be listed with an associated Settings icon to take you to a submenu to choose the specific operational details for that device - OpenSL, AAudio, Hi-Res, etc, and make specific adjustments just for that device (frequency, bitrate, DVC/EQ disable, buffer size, etc):

    Speaker                            ⚙️
    Wired/AUX                       ⚙️
    Bluetooth Devices:
        User's Headset A        ⚙️
        User's Headset B        ⚙️
        User's Speaker C        ⚙️
        etc
    USB DACs:
       User's DAC model A    ⚙️
✔️  User's DAC model B    ⚙️
       User's DAC model C    ⚙️
       etc
    Chromecast Devices:
       User's hardware A      ⚙️
       User's hardware B      ⚙️
       User's hardware C      ⚙️

A tick would indicate the currently active playback device. Each device-specific drill-down screen ought to include an option to remove/reset that entry (such as for a non-current BT headset which the user has since disposed of) or the list could get bloated.
