Poweramp: full version from Play store

I am trying to adjust the length of audio pause from PA when I have my headphones on. Specifically, I have it set up so when my headphones are in (3.5mm jack) and I get a text message, the music pauses, I get the notification sound and then the body of the text is read to me. Most of it works fine, the only problem is that the pause doesn't last long enough.

Ideally it will last just long enough for my assistant to finish reading the message then resume. Right now, it only lasts as long as its preprogrammed setting so that the music ends up cutting back in and I can't clearly hear what is being read.  I can't find anyway to lengthen the period of time or give audio focus completely to the assistant so the music doesn't kick back in.  Is there a way to do this?

I believe Short Audio Focus Changes (such as notifications, navigation wording, and calls) are meant to last for as long as required by the interruption. I don't know if there is a maximum time allowed for notifications, but certainly phone calls can go on for as long as you like. Does the resume work correctly for longer interruptions such as phone calls? Worth trying a different Output method too (such as AAudio or AudioTrack) as they sometimes behave differently.

@andrewilley Hello,

Yea, it used to work like that. But at some point that stopped. I've been playing with the settings and it started doing it again but kept on playing to experiment and see if I could find what the cause was and now it is back to not doing it.
