Error: Hi-Res Output on pixel 6a

This can often happen with the latest Android ROM releases. Sometimes it can be worked around, other times it can be permanent due to functional changes in the ROM design (my Samsung Galaxy A54 still doesn't work for Hi-Res with Android 14 for example).

In the meantime, please try using an alternative Output method such as AAudio which may well offer higher resolutions too.

AAudio is working fine so far, but there are problems with the delay in rewinding. There is a faster response to Hi-Res. I hope Maxim will find the cause of the breakdown

I'm in the same boat with a Pixel 6 Pro after updating to Android 15. Hi-Res output (Direct HD) no longer works.

I just wanted to chime in and say that Hi Res output is broken on my Pixel 8 with Android 15 as well.

AAudio output is working well as expected except for a more minor bug where if I set an alarm with Pixel's clock app, Poweramp will continue playing music over the alarm while it is going off. OpenSL stutters severely (I haven't played with output options so it might be fixed by increasing the buffer). I haven't bothered with the AudioTrack output since AAudio works fine except for the issue I mentioned above.

Same issue here, Pixel 8 Pro recently updated with Hi-Res broken, worked perfectly before. I use the GrapheneOS custom OS, if the Android 15 is a breaking change that cannot be worked around within the app and it's unrelated to security, I'd be happy to forward relevant info to the developers of GOS, they're usually happy to fix upstream issues if there's not a good reason to not do so.

In the meantime, until this issue can be either worked around or Android fixes it, please use an alternative Output option. There are plenty to choose from, I use AAudio at 192kHz/24-bit on my Samsung Galaxy A54/Android 14 for example.

First of all I apologize for my English level.

I have a Google Pixel 6a device, and since I updated to Android 15 it shows me this error with Hi-Res on Bluetooth devices. The music sounds delayed and distorted.

I know it's because the Android version is very recent, but if anyone else has this error please let us know so the developers can fix it as soon as possible.

Thanks!!

Does disabling DVC solve it? Because it does in Android 9, 12 & 14. As far as I know DVC interferes with system audio effects (like Dolby Atmos) so Hi-Res output fails. Also set Sample Rate to Auto. I don't have Android 15 to test it myself.

Not sure if this will work for everyone, but I also had this issue on my galaxy a54. I was able to get around it by setting hi res output to 96k/24bit and connected to my dac with ldac using the Bluetooth codec changer app.

No idea how or why because even USB outputs failed on hi res no matter what I did a few weeks ago. After making this change, all output options seem to work hi res output.

Using build 988 but not sure if that makes a difference.
