Flatmotion1
Hello I'm experiencing extreme battery consumption by power amp since the latest update a few days ago. I usually listen to music all day at work and get out at with about 60% battery left starting my day at 80%, but since the update I can watch the battery drain. Yesterday I left with 35% battery. The app runs in background for 99% of my use case yet is the most power consuming app on my device (even above 2 hours of maps for work commute)at the end of the day. Just writing this text I dropped 2% while gathering all the data and listening to music at the same time. Before the update the battery drain through Poweramp was barely noticeable and if I don't use Poweramp my battery life immediately improves. After work at home my phone drops roughly 5-10% from 3pm until 9:30pm as opposed to 40-50% in almost the same time frame and the only thing I do different is not listening to music. At this point in time my phone forecasts the battery to be dead by 8pm (8am right now) Poweramp build number 987 your device model Asus zenfone 10 your Android version 14 your custom ROM name/version - stock steps to reproduce - just using the app I already went through a full uninstall of this app but it didn't fix the issue, this was right after the update screwed with the DVC settings and messed up my volume levels on Bluetooth. I've been using this app since 2013 when I purchased it and this is the third time I feel forced to uninstall this app and look for an alternative because of issues. andrewilley
Hard to say specifically, but I'd guess that the library scanner is getting locked up during the scanning process. Try removing all folders from the Music Folders list and seeing if you still get drain with zero files/folders. Then add back one newly created folder with a few music files in it, and see if playing on repeat that causes problems. Then gradually add more original storage locations until the problem recurs. If the music is on an SD Card, try reformatting it and copy all the content back. Andre
