While playing in App - screen goes black (like it's sleeping) after .2 secs

• steps to reproduce
  1. Reboot phone to start clean
  2. navigate to Poweramp widget on home screen
  3. navigate into Poweramp application (click on album) Ie., not using widget
  4. while in Poweramp application , press play
  5. (music plays - OK)
  6. screen will go black after ~ .02 secs
  7. (music continues to play -OK)
  8. (can touch screen and the app. will re appear - OK - but will go black after ~ .02 secs)
  9. END

(Navigate into Poweramp app)

Press play on song. ~ 0.2 secs Screen goes black

Have you tried more recent beta builds, as some changes have been made for issues with pixel 9 phones.

@cookedcode you have enabled full screen visualization, so that's why it goes to it when not touched. It's black because it probably can't load it due to the permission taken away e.g. by that dreadful "Remove permission if app is unused option"), etc. Disable visualization and optionally ensure presets are scanned once via "Rescan presets". Thanks!
