maxmp
@Anuj Ranjan I commented in that topic, but that issue is not something directly related to the Equalizer itself, it's about an "environment". Thanks!
QuickInfo_
Over the past few days, my Pixel 9 XL has been randomly playing videos on YouTube, Spotify, and Chrome at full volume, regardless of the phone’s media volume settings. Sometimes adjusting the volume with the buttons works, but other times the sound remains at max volume, forcing me to close the app to stop it. After checking all the settings, I noticed that Poweramp Equalizer was recently updated, around the same time the issue started. Once I disabled Audio Processing in the Equalizer settings, the problem stopped. Has anyone else experienced this issue, or are there known fixes for Poweramp Equalizer causing volume control problems? For context, I have a specific preset set up for the speaker. Any insights would be appreciated. Just to add - I didn't change any settings within the equalizer in the past few days and has been working fine for the past several years including Pixel 5, 7, and now 9. No volume spikes or anything as mentioned by an earlier poster and has been working flawlessly for me. Edit: It’s definitely related to Poweramp Equalizer. I just experienced the issue again on YouTube Shorts. I disabled Poweramp Equalizer, went back to YouTube, and since the media volume was set to 0, the video played quietly. After re-enabling Poweramp Equalizer and returning to YouTube, the Shorts were blasting at full volume again. I disabled it again and played with no sound. Would appreciate you looking into this as I absolute love this equalizer. If there's any way I can assist in providing any logs, please let me know. andrewilley
@QuickInfo_ The most recent update includes some workarounds to solve issues with Pixel 9 ROMs, please ensure you have enabled that mode in Settings. Andre

Andre Interesting - for me, disabling "Use new Pipeline Model" solved the issue and the EQ is working fine on Bluetooth not on speaker. EDIT: Actually, the equalizer is showing the animation but it's not processing anything. So it seems to only work with the new Pipeline Model but causes a bug where it's playing audio on max volume. QuickInfo_
Hi @maxmp Are you aware of the issue where enabling the new pipeline causes YouTube and Spotify to play the sound at max volume regardless of what the system media volume is set to?

Tried it, it turns off the new pipeline which doesn't process the EQ, just shows the animation. Enabling it works but causes the sound bug again
QuickInfo_
Hi @maxmp, Are you aware of this bug that I mentioned? It's happening and I had to disable the new pipeline for Pixel 9 which pretty much disables the EQ.
maxmp
@QuickInfo_ there is no reason to disable New pipeline option on Pixel 9 as it effectively just disables EQ on this device. The volume issue is not related to this option. I don't experience it with my testings on Pixel 9, but may be some specific scenario may cause this - feel free to post steps to reproduce if that happens all the time. Also, some apps may be not DVC compatible - so you may specifically disable DVC for such players in Known Players within Peq settings.

I just tried disabling DVC from Settings > Equalizer as well as from the app tracking and it still seems to happen. It doesn't happen all the time but it's noticeable when I have my volume low and I'm browser through youtube search, my volume is low, and the audio from the Youtube app is playing at max volume. document_5181830282587669532.mp4 Edited October 1 by QuickInfo_
StickySli
I'm on build 987 on a Xiaomi 14T Pro, and I cannot get to run the equalizer on most apps. It only seems to work on Youtube Music and that's it! I've tried on Spotify, Soundcloud, Youtube, and even Revanced apps like RVX (app.rvx.android.youtube) and Revanced Youtube by Anddea (anddea.youtube). I allowed dump permissions and also advanced player tracking and I also disabled Xiaomi's builtin equalizer. Any idea of what could be the problem? I will now try to reinstall the app and go to the public release just in case.
andrewilley
Once you have set everything up and applied permissions (which you appear to have done) you should be able to start playback in any audio app and then open the Known Players menu and you should see the currently playing audio app and have the option to enable it for equalization. A reboot first might help. Andre
StickySli
@andrewilley I have tried a hard reboot by holding the power button very long, since I thought it may be a problem with my device turning on in less than 15 seconds, with all apps loaded and working with no delays. No success. I have tried other equalizer apps too and they work, albeit sometimes. * Wavelet works only in legacy mode with no dump permissions, and with normal mode only works for YT Music. * SoundID by Sonarworks works fine with all apps! So it may be a problem with how Poweramp EQ detects sound sessions in apps on Android 14. Not even the new pipeline model works.

I mean this effectively stops YouTube from processing EQ but it works with Spotify and I don't get the random volume boost. Something with the last update is causing it, and a friend also mentioned this is happening to them as well.
