Full/partial playback of a track⏱️

Recommended Posts

I think it would be a great option to add to Poweramp to be able to select the playback time of a track until it automatically skips to the next one, whether to only play half of the total duration of the track, a quarter, or the entire duration. That is, if the song lasts 5 minutes, to be able to choose whether the track should play until 2 minutes, 3:40 minutes, 4:00 minutes, etc. until it automatically skips to the next track and so on with the other songs. (Also an option to individually save the playback time of a specific track)

What would be your use case for such a feature?

I tend to scrabble through new albums on the first play through, listen to maybe 30s per track and skipping to the next in order to get a feeling for the album, there it might be something that I would use, but on the other hand it's something that is probably hard to set a precise time on as some intros are longer than others.

@6b6561 Well, I think it would be useful for very long songs (between 8-10 minutes) and also for songs that we only like certain parts or passages of, or also for when we only want to listen to the part where the song "explodes" or the chorus, you know, it would be ideal for when you just want a fun playback like a kind of Mix and not have to be blocking and unlocking the mobile skipping songs when you get bored, so it's something more dynamic and fun.

I can only see this being useful in songs that have a long period of silence (like hidden tracks, etc)

I use Audacity to edit out the silence in them as well as to split the hidden tracks that have two songs in one track with some silence between them.

(For example Blood by My Chemical Romance or Lost Then Found / Stone Hearts & Hand Grenades by Leona Lewis)
