Occasionally there are special offers on the Play Store, you could keep an eye out for one of those. Otherwise, $7.99 is far less than the price of a single music album, and seems quite reasonable given the amount of work that went into creating the app.

User forum moderator is not in charge of product discounts. Unless you're a big box loss-leader physical store front, announcing a discount for some future date makes zero business sense. Think for a moment on that..
