Squeller
Hi guys, I'm in a folder structure. If I press the play button (screenshot) it will play the first folder. Playback screen says "1/7“. Unexpected. I expect it to play all tracks?! If I press the rnd playback button, it plays some random track and most importantly," 1/320". thx Link to comment https://forum.powerampapp.com/topic/28071-top-play-button-only-plays-first-folder/ Share on other sites
Squeller
OK, I was wrong, it works. It's set to "Advance category", which it does. I was thinking it wouldn't work, because I was sliding (see screenshot) - and with this method, sliding stops at the end of the first folder. andrewilley
Glad you got it sorted, yes you need to have 'Advance Category' enabled for Poweramp to move on the next folder when the current one is complete. Setting it to 'Repeat Off' means play only the current category (i.e. current folder, album etc) and then stop. 'Advance Category' means continue on to Play All Categories. To be fair, you are not the first person who has been confused by the wording of the Repeat button, indeed it's one of the most common queries among new users about player operations. I've felt for some time time the wording could be changed to make it more obvious what each mode does. My suggestion was to rename the terms so we'd have three options for normal play, and the same again for Repeat; no major changes to how it actually works, just make the wording more intuitive: Play One Song | Play Current Category | Play All Categories | Repeat Song | Repeat Category | Repeat All Categories If nothing else it would save me a lot of time in reading these sort of posts.
