a graphical or visual way to see how the compressor is working

Hi, I will like the addition for a some kind of visual or more graphical way to see what the compressor is doing. This can be useful to for people to learn how the compressor works and also for people like me who don't completely understand the compressor but wants a more consistent volume level without ruining the dynamic range but don't know if is compressing too much or too little that basically isn't compressing at all.

And I say this because I watched a lot of tutorials and I still don't know if I am doing it right for what I want
