Per device equalizer settings in addition to per connection

Hello -

So, currently Poweramp has equalizer settings that work per connection. For example, you can set the equalizer to load a preset when playing through a wired connection, and another preset for Bluetooth, and another preset for the phone speaker.

This is a very useful feature and all, but it does have one flaw, at least as far as Bluetooth is concerned. Although it is nice to have Poweramp load a preset for Bluetooth connections, it's problematic when you have multiple devices that use Bluetooth for audio, for example, my WF-C500 headset and my DEH-5200 car stereo. I would like a option where I could have the equalizer load a preset when I'm using my headset, and a different preset (or none at all) when connecting to my car stereo. In this case, the "one size fits all" approach to having the equalizer load a preset for all Bluetooth connections is impractical and undesired. If I only had one Bluetooth device I use, it would be great, but I (and probably many others) use Poweramp with multiple Bluetooth devices.

Thank you for reading my suggestion and I hope to see this feature added in the somewhat near future.

When you are saving your desired Preset for each separate Bluetooth device, make sure you only tick the specific device name, not the overall 'Bluetooth' tickbox. If you tick the top Blueooth box, the setting will be applied to all BT connections rather than just the one device.

Well that's good to know. I've never seen that option before but I'll look for it. It's a very handy feature. I guess I'm not the only one who had trouble finding it.

Thanks again for your assistance

It's right there in the EQ 'Save/Assign' menu option. You can either just save your EQ adjustments to a named preset, or optionally also assign it to be automatically triggered in various circumstances. Ticking 'Bluetooth' will cause the saved preset to be triggered when any Bluetooth device is being used, or ticking only the name of the currently "in use" BT device will only trigger the preset when that particular device connects. USB-DAC names have the same functionality. Traditional wired headsets don't though, as there's no way to determine what particular headphone has been plugged in.
