What does 'Seek Fade' actually do?

I thought 'Seek Fade' Length 500ms means if i seek within a track, like tapping further on the waveform of a currently playing track, the track fades within itself for 500ms. Which would allow nice transitions if you want to skip certain parts of a track, while quickly showing new songs to your friends.

On my Samsung S23 Poweramp V976 'Seek Fade Length' is enable up to the max of 500ms, but there is no difference. If skip within the current waveform the audio track cuts straight with no gap to the chosen part of the track. But unfortunately also with NO fade.

Did I misunderstand the seek fade feature?

That's how I understood this feature too, but I agree it does not seem to behave as expected.
