zzzaap
Build number: build-976-bundle-play Device: Pixel Fold Version: Android 14 (but this has been happening before 14) Steps to reproduce: When I turn on my car, and then my phone connects through Android Auto (wired or wireless), the Poweramp preset switches to Speaker preset Is it possible to have Android Auto added as an output, and/or simply disassociating Android Auto as speaker? andrewilley
That would depend on what Android is reporting as its output path. Long-press on the metadata line on the Player Screen while audio is playing to see what is being used. zzzaap
Doesn't seem like there's a difference in that view. Both indicate the same preset and the same output device. Attached is the screenshot for when playing music through Android Auto Edited March 3 by zzzaap Link to comment https://forum.powerampapp.com/topic/27724-assign-preset-sets-android-auto-output-as-speaker-output/#findComment-128599 Share on other sites
steve_86
I have had this issue for a while using Poweramp and Android Auto. The sound quality is horrible when using the Speaker Output and I would really like to use Poweramp in Android Auto, but this prevents that. I am hoping my new phone solves the issue. andrewilley
@steve_86 'Speaker' is simply the wording returned by Android to the app, it does not mean it is actually routing via the internal speaker. Android Auto often uses Bluetooth (ironically especially when the phone is connected by a USB cable). Wireless connections may transfer via the wi-fi link. What is the problem with the audio quality on your setup? Mine sounds fine with several Samsung Galaxy devices and a USB-cabled Hyundai head-unit using Android Auto. Andre It seemed like the options on that output method were limited compared to the others. Tinny and compressed sound when playing flac files. If I pick the same song through YouTube Music the sound quality is better.
