Version Info:

  • Poweramp Full Version, 64 bit. Build number: build-976-bundle-play [976004-c2601e58]
  • Samsung Galaxy S24, Android version 14, Kernel version 6.1.25-android14-11-28243294, Build Number UP1A.231005.007.[REDACTED].

Summary:

When in Genres, selecting "shuffle All" and then going back to "Shuffle Songs" on a song that contains more than one genre will change to the wrong genre.

How to reproduce:

Prerequisites: Have a few songs/albums that contain more than one genre, separated by ";" or any other separator. For example, Genre: Classical;Contemporary Classical.

Steps:

  1. Go to Genres and select the second genre of a track/album. In this example, it's Contemporary Classical.
  2. On the top left, tap the "shuffle" icon. It will Shuffle Just Songs in the selected genre: Contemporary Classical.
  3. Change shuffle mode to Shuffle All by either cycling through the shuffle options or long-tapping the shuffle icon and selecting "Shuffle All". Now all songs in your entire library are being shuffled.
  4. Change shuffle mode back to Shuffle Just Songs by either cycling through the shuffle options or long-tapping the shuffle icon and selecting "Shuffle Songs".
  5. Now the wrong category is being shuffled: Poweramp is shuffling the Classical genre instead of Contemporary Classical.
  6. Tap the back button or swipe to go "back". Now you are in the list with the wrong genre: Classical.

Actual behavior:

The genre changes from "Contemporary Classical" to "Classical".

Expected behavior:

The genre remains on "Contemporary Classical". That means, when you toggle shuffle modes inside genres, it remembers the genre you initially selected when shuffling.
