arjun.leines
I bought Poweramp to play file from a folder hierarchy Genre\Artist\Album1 Album2 etc. Now I enter "Folder Hierarchy", enter the folder Rock and an artist with 3 albums. Now I want Poweramp only to play those 3 albums and when it ends, to stop or begin again with the first album of this specific artist. How can I do that? At the end of the last album album, Poweramp jumps to the next artist, but I want to stay within the artist. andrewilley
The best way to do that would be to add the whole required Artist folder to the Queue (which will add all of its subfolders in order). Long-press on the main parent folder and use '>>Queue', or you can select individual subfolders the same way. Make sure you have the 'Stay In Queue' option enabled in Settings=>Library=>Queue, otherwise the Queue will exit back to normal playback upon completion. You can turn on Repeat Catgeory if you want to continue playing it again. arjun.leines
Hi Andre Thank you for for the fast reply! Adding the artist to the queue is a solution, even though a little bit complicate. What I still don't like now with the queue solution: after I've added the artist to the empty queue and play all the tracks, if I accidentally press the >>> button instead of the >> for the next track, I plays the next artist, even though the queue contains only the artist I previously selected. Pressing <<< does not take me back to the queue. I activated the option you advised in the settings "stay in queue". Is there a way to always really stay in the queue? andrewilley
@arjun.leines No, the Queue is basically just a temporary list of songs which is designed to interrupt normal playback to listen to a selection of specifically chosen songs before returning to regular (Category based) listening. In the past, any unplayed songs that still remained in the Queue would kick back into action again as soon as the next track change occurred, but that memory behaviour was removed some time ago and now you'd have to manually restart the Queue by going into Library=>Queue and choosing the song you'd like to recommence with. There is a Feature Request to implement a full 'Queue Only' mode, which would only ever play content that has been added to the queue (some other media player apps work this way) but even if that was available, you'd lose the concept of Categories during playback so would no longer be able to change albums, artists, etc. Andre Link to comment https://forum.powerampapp.com/topic/27296-playing-only-one-artist-folder/#findComment-126153 Share on other sites
arjun.leines
Hi, thank you for your answers! A 'Queue Only' mode would really be a great feature, I hope it will be implemented in the near future. Thank you for the help, I appreciate it very much!
