lockscreen now playing is slow to update after upgrade to android 14

Ever since i upgraded my Pixel 6 pro to android 14 my now playing on the lockscreen doesnt update correctly, it used to change as soon as the song changed but now it doesn't update til i wake my phone, very annoying when i have it connected to my car stereo and it starts a new song but it still showing the previous song, i have tried with a different player and it seemed to update straight away, have just tried to reinstall and its still the same, any tips of anything else i can try?

 

EDIT: after a little testing i have found out that if i skip song it will update to the next song when the clock changes to the next minute
