Support for bit-perfect playback out of USB-C port

Recently Google announced that the pixel phones will soon have the ability to natively play lossless audio, or bit perfect audio out of the USB port. And that later the feature will come to other android devices.

Poweramp should add the option to match the sample rate to the song in their High-res output.

@andrewilley Honestly I don't use many of those features so I am glad it will be implemented. I normally try to make my output match the sample and bitrate of the file I'm playing. But with 16bit 44kzh, 24bit 44khz, 24bit 88khz and 24bit 96khz files its honestly bothersome.

Hi Dev Team,

Please inform community once above mentioned functionality introduced in beta version.  I am eagerly waiting for it.

By the way, Poweramp is best music player among I tested. Developers did excellent job.

Thanks Andre, yes its way down the list and the items above don't float my boat, always stuck to Poweramp but others now might be more suitable for my needs.

(Subjectively) It gets brought up more times across all platforms to voice opinions than votes end up casted. Not sure what that's about.

Looking forward to this feature. SRC is a very annoying practice for audiophile. For the last decade, people can only bypass SRC by using poor desinged apps like UAPP. So it would be great if Poweramp can bypass SRC in android 14.

What USB Type C don't support Loseless output? For example my phone have a Hi-Fi chip which is capable of 32b 384k i guess and if i connect type c to 3.5mm converter and a earphone I want get Loseless audio because my phone USB don't output Loseless audio? 🤔 But I heard usb type c have same output capabilities as 3.5mm Jack

This depends on the actual converter. Some literally can only handle standard Android API formats at 44.1/48kHz 16-bit. Others have full capabilities up to 768kHz 32-bit and even DSD, and even have high power amplifiers built in.

So that mean if my phone can output 96khz my usb too will output that without downsampling right?

I don't get it is it USB fault or android? Does this issue was also existed in 3.5mm?

There are so many Android phones this cannot be answered with simple yes or no. Older devices may have a limit on the maximum rate that can be transferred by USB. Newer ones with USB-C should pass most or all audio formats.

However the connected device also has to support higher bit and sample rates. Cheaper singles may only support 16-bit/48kHz. Expensive ones can do much more.

Same issue with any devices that still have a real 3.5mm output. The DAC for this is in the phone and support changes by brand and device.
