Kousskouss
I am using an android 10 smartphone, last software update installed. DAC is activated on the OpenSL ES Output (the active one, i dont know how to change it, also it is impossible to unselect the phone speaker) but the sound keep coming out of the phone speaker, the usb cable works (can charge the phone) i don't know why it won't work... Could you help with that, is it a settings problem ? Link to comment https://forum.powerampapp.com/topic/27257-dac-issues/ Share on other sites
andrewilley
Where the sound comes from is controlled by Android (speaker, headset, bluetooth), Poweramp can't re-route it. Poweramp can use different audio path/processing methods though, which you can find in PA Settings=>Audio=>Output. Choose a method and enable it for USB DAC. Are you using a simple USB cable (e.g. used for charging or data transfer) or an OTG cable (designed for connecting peripheral devices to the phone, rather than having the phone act as a peripheral device). You DAC's manual should tell you which one you need. Andre Link to comment https://forum.powerampapp.com/topic/27257-dac-issues/#findComment-125918 Share on other sites
Kousskouss
It is the cable that comes with the external amp (fiio q11) so it is made for that purpose, and as i said i have enabled the DAC in audio, output but it still uses the phone speaker and nor the amp and headphone connected so its pretty frustrating Link to comment https://forum.powerampapp.com/topic/27257-dac-issues/#findComment-125926 Share on other sites
Kousskouss
You said that Poweramp cant re-route where the sound come from but is there any settings on android that can force the use of the amp ? I haven't found one Link to comment https://forum.powerampapp.com/topic/27257-dac-issues/#findComment-125927 Share on other sites

andrewilley
So do other Android audio apps output via the USB-connected DAC, but Poweramp does not? Andre Link to comment https://forum.powerampapp.com/topic/27257-dac-issues/#findComment-125929 Share on other sites
Kousskouss
No i have trouble using the DAC with other apps too (VLC, Vanilla music) so maybe a general settings problem but i don't find any settings about DACs Link to comment https://forum.powerampapp.com/topic/27257-dac-issues/#findComment-125934 Share on other sites

Are you sure it supports USB Audio output? Link to comment https://forum.powerampapp.com/topic/27257-dac-issues/#findComment-125936 Share on other sites
