I have 2 Bluetooth amps with the same name, although I renamed them on my phone but PA eq doesn't switch to the eq assigned. Does PA eq use mac  addresses for assignment or the names of the device itself?

Im using a stock pixel 6 pro

If you edit the name in Android BT settings, and then assign the EQ Preset using that new name, it should work as far as I know.

It doesn't. In the image , Bathroom and Kitchen are both showing up as the original name it was in the android Bluetooth settings.

Poweramp doesn't use BT addresses as they are not available on many Android devices (esp. on the older Androids), and it's not a good idea to mix named and addressed devices in one database/presets. Still, I may re-add addresses for just the latest Androids, unless it requires some another scary permission, of course.

My Android BT paired-devices list shows the personal names that I have assigned to them. Renaming is achieved via the Settings icon next to each device:

Yep, my devices are renamed in android's bluetooth device list as in the screenshot, but in PA eq it's recognized as the original manufacturer name. It would be nice for PA to recognize edited device name on Android device list or use the mac address as that's  more unique.

@UltraMagnus0001 I've just done same checks and you're right, PA is using the BT device's broadcast name rather than any edited version within the local Android settings. To test, I renamed the external device to something else (via its own internal BT settings) and that name was what PA referred to, rather than any edits that I then made locally to the paired name on the Android side.

[Feature Request] Have the eq recognize Bluetooth mac addresses or the edited names given to a device within android, in order to prevent device conflicts or allow the eq to switch between assigned presets. 2 different devices that has the same names from a manufacturer can use different eq presets by seeing them as different devices either by mac or the name I give it within android's connected device. In the screenshot Bathroom and Kitchen are both BT-WUZHI, but both can only be assigned to one eq preset.
