Poweramp Equalizer Pre-Set Always on When Launching

I am going to try and explain this.  Since the last update, when I launch Poweramp, the audio is always utilizing my equalizer pre-set, even though when I go into the Equalizer/Tone/Limit area it does not show the EQU button as selected and the Equalizer itself is grayed out.  If I push the EQU button the equalizer lights up, however the audio doesn't change because the equalizer was already being used.  If I push the EQU button again to turn off the equalizer, the audio then plays without the EQ.

Is this a known issue?  The problem is I only use the EQ when playing to certain devices.  I do not want it to automatically play.  It has to be a bug because the EQ is being used every time I launch the app, but the EQU isn't selected and is grayed out.

Thanks for your help.

Appreciate the quick response.  I installed 971 and it has not changed anything.  I even rebooted the phone after the first test and it still plays the audio as if the equalizer preset is engaged when you launch the app.

Have you assigned a Preset for that specific output device? If you look at the Audio Info chain (long-press on the metadata line at the bottom of the screen during playback) does it show an EQ preset in use?
