7ni4F_
I wanna know if it's normal for Bluetooth to default to 24-bit and 96hz. I try to switch it to 16-bit and 44.1hz since my files aren't any higher than these parameters. Is it normal why Android tries to force itself to use these default parameters and not the ones I set? Fitzian
Does your phone and Bluetooth device support LDAC? Its format parameters top out at 24/96. Otherwise 16bit/44.1 kHz is the norm for most Bluetooth connections. Quote Translate Revert translation? Is it normal for it to go 24/96, even if I set it to 16/44.1 because my files aren't higher and doing so will just cause Poweramp to resample the audio. Quote Translate Revert translation? Fitzian
If possible, see if output will stick to 88.2kHz? Do you have sample rate set to "defined by device" or a manual setting? Fitzian
If SoX resampler is enabled, any resampling to a higher resolution (88.2 or 96) isn't losing anything. Quote Translate Revert translation? Fitzian
LDAC (in a vacuum that only Sony knows the whereabouts of) should support 44.1, 48, 88.2, and 96kHz. Some devices/ROMs gate sample rates behind specific bit depths. (88.2 and greater locked to 24 bit, or 352.8 and greater locked to 32 bit). So to your question of whether or not Android forces things to behave certain ways, the answer is yes. Further support would probably require a few more details specific to your device, such as ... your device, your audio output detections log, any dongle DAC/transmitters (if used), your headphones, etc. Quote Translate Revert translation? maxmp
@7ni4F_ bluetooth codec and parameters are negotiated during the connection or/and start of playback and there is little (some level of unreliable options in Developer settings) we can do to change those.
