Bencherished
I downloaded oto music from play store today, and I was impressed with some features I saw. 1) The layout of recently added songs: it's rectangle, with the title of the song placed on the left, album art on the right, blending both with the album art colours. That page also has, recently played Album and recent artists. 2) Album and Artist are linked: if you click on an album, or artist, it will show you some of the artists songs, with an option to see all, then below, you will see albums, singles and appears on, all relating to the artist. 3) Album art and song list blend: The album art at the top, and the song list below, blend simlessly, no line between them. 4) About Album or Artist: if you are connected to Internet, you can download metadata. (Optional) 5) List of upcoming songs: I have seen this request on this forum, I like this feature too. I was jealous, @Max please do something. Bencherished. andrewilley
As you say (5) is already a frequently requested feature: On 4/28/2022 at 11:05 AM, andrewilley said: 'Now Playing' view, showing a flat scrollable list of the history of what has been played so far during the current playback session, and all upcoming planned tracks, as a flat list. maxmp
@Bencherished if you mean extra row entries on top of albums to artists, I guess this can be optionally added. As well as half screen top area gradient, at least this can be allowed for 3rd party skins. Poweramp v1 introduced that view with smaller cover and blurred background and over the years we moved to something else, but still may be it's a good idea too allow it optionally. (There is like constant fight between users who wants as much info as possible, reduced row sizes, reduced header size VS users who want more paddings and more empty space, though Poweramp already tries to support both ways via resizable lists and compat header). The artist info in Oto seems to be Last.FM sourced and Last.FM doesn't allow commercial usage of this info. If Oto can be purchased/subscribed, it violates EULA/copyright, Poweramp can't do that. Anyway Poweramp is actively developed and the development is user/community-requests driven, so almost anything can be added/changed/improved, and there are few steps I'm going to implement to ensure that. Bencherished
@maxmp You are right on point with your response. What got me with Oto music was how if feels like, the player is suggesting album and artist as if it is AI in realtime. And the horizontal scrolling. Showing you single(s) and featured in. In Poweramp, the album art at the top of album view, is not shown full, the top and bottom is cut, I think we should be able to see it fully, either when scrolling down or up. I actually use the Compact Header mode to reduce the space used for artwork at the top of the screen; it's the list of track titles (as text) that I'm interested in, not half a screenful of what is basically eye-candy. But each to their own of course. Andre

I'm not saying that the art work should occupy half of the screen in that view, I'm saying, there should be a way to view it in full, maybe as you scroll up, the down page is revealed, and when you scroll down, the top is revealed, not just the centre.
