JMN
I've been using PA for ages... After recently updated software I can't make it working anymore. I've followed all suggestions I found on the internet unsuccessfully. I've changed folders, applied legacy mode, installed app either from Google Play store or from PA website. Nothing works. WTF is going on? I'm looking for permanent soluition, doesn't matter whether from app developers or from google staff. Is anyone willing to help me? MotleyG
This is due to A13 scoped storage, and was update in the most recent builds of PA. Play edition: File Access Legacy Mode option is not supported anymore on Android 13+. The support is removed by Google. Please use Music Folders dialog to enable/add appropriate folders with the music to Poweramp LibraryAndroid doesn't allow certain folders to be added this way, including /Downloads or storage root. This limitation is set by Google. Please try adding subfolders instead Disable the legacy mode first. Then in your library folder selection screen, remove all folders. Then add the correct ones back, and accept the permission request that the OS pops up each time. And note that you can’t use the root folder, or any system folder that Android feels should be protected (like Downloads). JMN
I've done everything once again... I put music into Samsung folder and now PA is scanning library for at least 10 mins. Although some files have been found I still can't play all of them. I think the issue is related not only to the most recent changes in A13 but also with the Legacy Mode in PA... Thanks anyway for quick response...

I have about 25k on an external SD card and it takes 12-15min to scan from a Full Refresh.
maxmp
@JMN one screenshot shows popup with error "Activity can't be found". This is indication of disabled system folder selection dialog - this way it's not possible to select folders in Poweramp as the system file dialog is disabled (like in Windows PC, open dialog is removed so no new files/folders can be opened in apps). Some "package optimizer" and similar apps may do this kind of damage. See here for the details:
